After dealing with a family member in a crisis situation, our pastor wrote this for our church bulletin. I know that we all can do better.
Pastor’s Perspective
1. No problem is small to those who are going through the problem.
2. The ministry of presence is many times more important than our words.
3. Trials are opportunities to deepen our knowledge and trust in a sovereign God.
4. Just a prayer, card, or call means so much to the suffering family.
5. If we don’t exercise mutual care, then we must assume one does not really care about their brother or sister in Christ. (emphasis mine)

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. ~Psalms 19:14

Janet, I know with the situation our family has been going through with Daddy being so sick, it has meant so much to have calls or help of any kind. There have been times when we didn’t know what we would do, but God would send someone to lighten the way.
