5 Notes on Dating for the Guys
“Here are some insights to help Christian men date in a way that honors God.”

How the Ayres Family Buried Their 8 Children
“…God is faithful to his Word and can always be trusted. He should be praised from one generation to the next.

“We can trust our Lord no matter what suffering we may endure because he has already endured it for us. He will help us until the day he returns. Until that day, we must hope in the Lord as we lift our voices to bless the name of the One who gives and takes. We will remember that our lives are hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then we will also appear with him in glory.”

“You’re a stay-at-home mom? What do you DO all day?”
“If your mother quit her role as mother, entire lives would be turned upside down; society would suffer greatly. The ripples of that tragedy would be felt for generations. If she quit her job as a computer analyst, she’d be replaced in four days and nobody would care. Same goes for you and me. We have freedom and power in the home, not the office. But we are zombies, so we can not see that.”

American Supermom or A Mom After God’s Heart? (Part 1)
American Supermom or A Mom After God’s Heart? (Part 2)
These posts blessed me and encouraged me to keep going even though it’s very, very hard for me right now.

“Sure, there haven’t been as many vacations and their cars are older. There aren’t as many extras in her life. The budget is tight. The lure of getting a job and working for extra money is there, and the lure of a life of ease calls. But she knows they are extras, the pleasure is momentary and fleeting. She knows to do this job every day she must know how to die to herself. She can’t leave her family simply to have extra stuff. She is not popular for the decisions she makes for her family.”

Betsie and the Fleas
The Hiding Place is one of my all-time favorite books. The story of the ten Boom family encourages me still after all the years since I first read the book. Jacqueline at Deep Roots at Home shares the story of being thankful for fleas.:) (You can purchase The Hiding Place using my affiliate link. Read my disclosure policy here.)

HomeMakers by Choice
HomeMakers by Choice is one of my favorite podcasts by one of my favorite Christian authors, Donna Otto. The website has links to her past podcasts, books and other resources, and a free encouraging newsletter.

Sacrifices of Praise
“Have you ever wanted something so badly your heart ached with each thought of it?…So, why doesn’t God give you this longing of your heart?”

  1. Janet,
I am so blessed when I visit your blog. I don’t believe I have left a comment before as I struggle with time management, but I want to thank you for sharing the posts mentioned above. Don’t you just love Betsie and Corrie! I am excited to do some reading from the other links you have shared, especially the story about the Ayres family. That is so encouraging and beautiful…’our lives are but a vapor’. Wow!
